Big Blonde
Big Blonde
by Dorothy Parker (adapted by Shirley Anderson)directed by Anthony Byrnes
Dorothy Parker's wickedly funny and unforgiving portrait of a "good time gal" drifting from man to man in a sea of whisky, drowning her loneliness with dreams of an easy escape.
"Big Blonde" - Shirley Anderson's adaptation of Dorothy Parker's 1929 O. Henry Award-winning short story - was originally conjured in smoky and haunted Chicago bars and jazz clubs. In 1995 and 1996, Shirley performed "Big Blonde" at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival to full houses and great press.
